Who runs this magazine

This magazine is run by CACTUS TOKYO Inc., the company that makes the voice input app SayonaraType. Most of our writers are involved in developing the product. At the top of every article, the byline states who wrote it and how they relate to the product.

What we write about

We write about writing, speaking and thinking. Beyond comparisons and how-tos for voice input tools, we cover how language works, how to write at work, and how to live with our tools. Articles about our own product are labeled "Product" to set them apart from other articles.

How we treat our own product

In articles that compare tools, we list our own product in the same table, on the same points. We don't pick only the points that favor us, and we also report where our product falls short. We state the conditions of any comparison (version, settings, date checked) in the article.

Where we don't yet offer our product in a language, we say so and note that it is still being researched. We don't make performance claims for languages we don't yet offer.

How we check facts

We list sources for numbers and for information about other companies at the end of each article. We check other companies' prices and features against their official information and note the date we checked. Anything we couldn't confirm from official information is marked "Not confirmed," never "Not supported."

For figures such as speed or accuracy, we always state the language and how they were measured (method and sample size). We never present a figure measured in one language as if it applied to another.

Advertising and compensation

We don't run ads in our articles. We don't accept payment from other companies for writing articles. We don't use affiliate programs that pay us when you buy a product we mention.

Corrections

When we find an error, we fix the article and update the date in the byline. For corrections that affect an article's conclusions, we note in the relevant place what we changed and when. If you spot an error, please let us know through our contact page.
