SayonaraType Waitlist — Privacy Notice

This notice explains how CACTUS TOKYO Inc. ("we") handles the information you give us when you join the SayonaraType waitlist for a language or region where SayonaraType is not yet released.

1. Who we are

2. What we collect

Required:

  • Your email address
  • The language(s) you want to use (so we can contact you in the right language)

Optional — only if you choose to give them:

  • The country you select, and the type of Mac you use
  • Anything you write in the comment box (for example, what you dislike about the tools you use today)

Collected automatically:

  • The country your connection comes from (estimated by our hosting provider from your IP address; we do not store the IP address itself — only a one-way hash, kept for 7 days to prevent abuse)
  • The page you signed up on and how you found it (for example, the campaign name in the link)
  • The date of your sign-up, whether you confirmed your email, and the version of this notice you agreed to

3. Why we use it

  • To email you about SayonaraType's release in your language and region, and to invite you to early tests
  • To understand which languages and regions to work on next (counts by country, language and source)
  • To read your comments so we can build a better product for your language

We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.

4. Legal basis

We rely on your consent, which you give by ticking the box on the sign-up form and confirming your email address. You can withdraw your consent at any time (Section 7).

5. Who processes it for us

  • Hosting and database: a cloud provider (United States and its global network)
  • Sending email: an email delivery provider (United States)

These providers process the information only to provide their service to us, under data processing agreements. Your information is therefore transferred to and stored in countries other than your own, including the United States and Japan. Where the law requires, these transfers rely on appropriate safeguards: the providers' data processing agreements incorporate the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, and both providers participate in the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework.

6. How long we keep it

  • If you do not confirm your email within 30 days, we delete your sign-up.
  • If you confirm, we keep it until SayonaraType is officially released in your language and region, or until we stop the project for that language — and then delete it promptly. In any case we delete it no later than 2 years after you sign up, or as soon as you unsubscribe.
  • The number of sign-ups (without your email address) may be kept for our records.

7. Your choices and rights

Every email we send includes a one-click link that unsubscribes you and deletes your sign-up immediately. You can also ask us to access, correct or delete your information by emailing info@sayonaratype.com; we respond within one month, free of charge. Depending on where you live (for example, in the EU/EEA, the UK or Brazil), you may also have the right to object, to restrict processing, to data portability, and to complain to your local data protection authority.

8. Changes

If we change this notice in a way that matters, we will update the date above and, where required, ask for your consent again.

9. Language

This notice is also available in other languages. If a translation differs from this English version, the English version prevails.
